Dinner was not inexpensive at $34.99 per person. The desert stations had a vast array of delicious appearing desserts with the Creme Brule being worth the trip in itself. The ribs were tender, juicy, and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the Steamed Clams & Mussels in a broth along with the Kielbasa found at the carving station. The Clam Chowder and Cream of Mushroom soups were excellent as was the well-provisioned salad bar. The Hot & Sour Soup was neither hot nor sour and it was thick enough to float a large stone.

At the seafood station, nothing remained of the salmon but a picked-over skeleton the skeleton remained for the entire meal. Some of the crab legs were fresh and delicious while others had either been sitting far too long or were grossly overcooked. The chicken had been fried hours earlier. The carving stations looked like it was carving left over meats from the previous day. As in any buffet there are inherent problems with food quality, but this was a busy evening and the warmers should have been continuously filled with freshly-prepared food. Some one did keep the table clear of dishes while we were in the food lines. Our waiter showed up with our drinks, but we never saw him again when we needed refills. Being seated next to a gas-fired fireplace created a cozy feeling for a Christmas Eve dinner. The relatively new remodeling of the restaurant resulted in an elegant and welcoming ambiance. Sitting down and sampling the food reduced our expectations significantly. Entering the food lines reduced our expectation somewhat. Entering the buffet with four adult members of my family created high expectations for a wonderful meal.
